I'd love to know more about this car, "CAL", which I bought, I think Circa 1970, for £100 and a sack of spuds! Originally white with red trim, she had been resprayed 'Porsche yellow' by a previous owner and was kitted out with a 'Lenham' hard-top and fibreglass bonnet. I was living and working on a farm (hence the sack of spuds to clinch the deal) and over the next year or so, refitted a 'frog-eye' bonnet, rebuilt the engine, overhauled the 'inch and one eighth' twin carbs with their delightful brass chokes, and resprayed her British Racing Green. Unfortunately, I left my then 'pride and joy' parked in a barn whilst away at college, only to return to find rats had nested in her and had eaten anything made of plastic, including the upholstery, switches and wiring harness, putting her beyond my capabilities to repair. I see from the DVLA website that it remains taxed so someone must have restored her and still be enjoying owning her, I hope as much as I did. tonybarnard@rocketmail.com
